Welcome to Aviva

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.”

Sarah Rosen Garrett, LCSW-S, RPT-S, RYT-200

As an integrative therapist and founder of Aviva, I believe in holistic and integrative care that bridges ancient wisdom with modern advances in neuroscience and evidence-based care.

“True healing is not about managing symptoms; it is an act of deep, sovereign reclamation. The remembering of who you truly are underneath any painful or traumatic life experiences.”

For 28 years, I have walked alongside individuals navigating complex trauma, grief and loss, and profound life transitions. My journey began in the classroom with Teach for America as a Special Education teacher in an underserved public school—a foundational experience where I was twice honored as Teacher of the Year. It was here that my lifelong commitment to equity, human resilience, and neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed care was born.

My passion for innovative and accessible mental health care led me into the nonprofit sector, where I founded, scaled, and led a successful nonprofit organization, Phoenix Center. Having served as a psychotherapist, CEO, and lead Clinical Supervisor, I spent over two decades designing trauma-informed clinical systems, developing an integrative model of care, and mentoring the future generation of therapists. Today, as I transition to a support and board role in the nonprofit space, I am channeling my full energy into Aviva Wellness.

This practice is a dedicated safe space for women, navigating complex trauma, grief, loss, burnout, significant life transitions, perimenopause and menopause. These biological milestones are far more than physical changes—they are profound psychological and spiritual initiations. Grounded in depth psychotherapy, somatic and integrative healing modalities, and trauma-informed care, I offer an affirming, highly specialized space for women navigating trauma, Complex PTSD (C-PTSD), neurodiversity, grief and loss, midlife, burnout, perimenopause, and menopause.

As a speaker and published author, I have presented at conferences in Texas, nationally, and internationally, and continue to offer advanced training and consultation for mental health care professionals. I am the author of the book Phoenix Rising—a modern tale of overcoming adversity—and my clinical work includes a co-authored article in Play Therapy Magazine with Lindsey Humphrey Crelia.

Whether you join me for depth psychotherapy, integrative therapies, or an immersive healing retreat, my goal is to provide the sacred space and clinical depth you need to shed what no longer serves you and rise fully into your next chapter as your true self. My work bridges:

During the last 6 years, after experiencing the depths of traumatic grief during the initiation of perimenopause and menopause, a series of spiritual awakenings lead to years of deeper healing, advanced training in holistic therapies, integration, and transformative growth. Having personally walked this path, it would be my profound honor to walk beside you.

Our journey of healing, integration, and rediscovering wholeness is ever unfolding and the “nectar is in the journey.”

True healing is not about managing symptoms; it is an act of deep, sovereign reclamation. The remembering of who you truly are underneath any painful or traumatic life experiences.

You are not broken. You are already Whole.
